GEREJA DI TENGAH PERSIMPANGAN JALAN: ANTARA MISI DAN MODERASI

Abstract

This study contains the doubts and struggles of the church which is at a crossroads. On the one hand, the church is required to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, namely to go and preach the Gospel, but on the other hand, especially in the context of religious pluralism in Indonesia, the church is required to be tolerant in religious life which appears in the form of moderation. The purpose of this study is to formulate a theological construction that can be a solution proposal for the church in responding to the call of mission and the application of religious moderation in Indonesia. In this study, the author uses research with a qualitative approach. Sources of information are obtained through library sources and documentation. The results of this study are that the church is experiencing a theological struggle in the doubt between the task of mission and the obligation of religious moderation in Indonesia. Therefore, the church provides a theological solution in the construction of missions in this postmodern era, especially in the midst of the Indonesian nation which is religiously diverse.
